House rules for happy cats:
How it works
Pick a 50-minute slot online. Weekends sell out, weekdays are sleepy in the best way.
Every session includes any coffee, tea, or cocoa from the bar. Pastries ride along for a few bucks.
Settle into the lounge and let the cats inspect you. Falling in love is optional but extremely common.
Sessions are $15 for adults and $10 for kids 6 to 12, drink included. Adoptions happen through our shelter partners, always fee-free events included.

Cat of the month
September spotlight
Every month we feature one resident who deserves extra eyeballs. Bean has been with us six weeks, which in kitten time is roughly forever. She is fearless, hilarious, and ready to run your household.

The café side
The coffee bar is a real café, with beans from a Portland roaster and pastries from a bakery two blocks away. Cats stay in the lounge, snacks stay on your side. Everybody wins.
Espresso, dark chocolate, a whisper of orange.
$6
Honey, cinnamon, steamed milk. Decaf available, obviously.
$5.5
Single-origin Ethiopian, brewed slow. Tastes like blueberries.

Good to know
Every session is 50 minutes, but the vibe shifts all day. Pick your hour like you mean it.
Morning light, fresh pastries, and cats at peak chaos after breakfast. The kittens do their best work before noon.
Post-lunch drowsiness sets in. This is when the shy cats emerge and the purring reaches maximum volume.
Wand toys come out, Pickles does parkour, and the window perches fill with sunbathers.
Lights dim, voices drop, and the lounge turns into the coziest room in Portland. Last session, best cuddles.

Happy visitors
“Went for coffee, left with a cat. Tofu now runs our household and we have zero regrets.”
“My 8-year-old still talks about Bean the kitten. The staff remembered his name on our second visit.”
“The rare rainy-day plan that is actually better than staying home. Book the window seats.”
From the journal

Our baristas match drinks to visit styles, from the nervous first-timer to the regular who has a usual perch.

The single habit that turns a quiet session into a lap full of cat. Patience, treats, and low expectations.

A shelter photo shows a cat. An hour on your lap shows a personality. Our partners explain the café effect.
Your lap is needed
Sessions run Wednesday through Sunday and include any drink from the bar. Weekends book out, so grab your spot.
