How a cat café visit actually works

First visit coming up? Here is exactly what happens, so you can skip the nerves and get to the cats.
Before you arrive
Book a 50-minute session on the Visit page. You will pick a date, a time, and your party size. Wear socks you like, because shoes come off at the lounge door, and skip strong perfume. Cats have opinions about perfume.
The first five minutes
Check in at the coffee bar and order your included drink. Staff walk you through the house rules (inside voices, let cats come to you, no flash) and introduce whoever is awake and accepting visitors.
The next forty-five
This is the good part. Settle onto a couch, sip your latte, and do absolutely nothing. The friendliest cats will inspect you within minutes. The shy ones take longer, and winning them over is the best feeling in the building.
Before you leave
Wash your hands, check the adoption board, and try very hard not to fill out an application. Most people fail at that last step, and honestly, that is the point.
